About Lantera Digital
We're a data and AI consultancy based in Malaysia, working with organisations who want real value from their data, not another slide deck about digital transformation.
Why the name Lantera
A lantera is a lantern, something that lights the way instead of just producing light for the sake of it. That's how we think about data and AI too, tools that should make the road ahead clearer for the people actually making the decisions.
How we think about consulting
We're wary of consultancies that leave a client more dependent on them than before. Every engagement, training, platform, or AI, is built so your team understands and can own what we deliver. We'd rather do fewer things properly and hand them over cleanly than sell you more than you need.
What we value
Outcomes over output
We measure success by the decisions our work actually enables, not the number of slides in the final deck.
Regional context
We understand the data maturity, talent market, and business context of working in Malaysia and the wider region, because we live here too.
No vendor bias
We recommend whatever platform or approach actually fits you, not whichever one we get a kickback for selling.
Who's behind it
Two engineering directors, one based in Kuala Lumpur and one in London, who got tired of seeing data projects go nowhere and decided to fix that themselves.
Finn Tan Wee Lip
Engineering Director & Co-Founder · LinkedIn
Finn is a data engineer originally from Malaysia, now based in London, where he's spent years building data platforms and picking up a small mountain of Databricks certifications along the way. He's worked on modern data engineering at UBDS Group, speaks regularly at data community events, and still finds time to explain Spark to people at conferences. Bilingual in English and Malay, he brings a very hands on, no nonsense approach to how Lantera Digital builds things.
Irfan Noordin
Engineering Director & Co-Founder · LinkedIn
Irfan is a data scientist based in Kuala Lumpur with an engineering background from McMaster University. He's worked on digital transformation at Sime Darby Plantation and SD Guthrie Berhad, previously served as Dean at School of AI Kuala Lumpur teaching machine learning to anyone willing to sit through his slides, and helps organise the Data Council community here. He's the one making sure Lantera Digital's AI work actually makes sense for how Malaysian businesses operate.
Let's talk about your data.
Tell us where you're stuck, training, platform, or AI lah, and we'll give you a straight answer. No sales fluff, promise.
